Sue Mahaffee

Sue serves at St. Christopher in the role of Director of Reservations. She has an AS from Montreat Anderson University and a BA in Business from UNC Asheville. She comes to St. Christopher with thirty years of experience as a Certified Personnel Consultant and staff recruiter. Her favorite job she’s ever had is being the mom to three boys - taking them to all their sporting events, being a room mom, team mom, and hosting youth events for her church.

Though she first thought that God would call her to volunteer at St. Christopher after retirement, it turned out that she was actually being called to join our staff, something she did in November 2021. Sue considers it a blessing to be the person greeting our conference center guests and making all the arrangements for their bookings. When Sue is not at St. Christopher, she enjoys spending time with her church family at Bethel UMC, walking on the beach (her favorite place in the world!), traveling with her husband Max, and hanging out with her three adult sons and their spouses. One of those sons, Zach, works at St. Christopher. Other family members include Lady, her border collie rescue; and Buddy, River, and Marsh, three labrador retrievers who love walks and jumping off of docks.

What is your favorite scripture? 
Because I know the Lord sees me and accompanies me through life and because of my gratitude for His presence, my favorite verse is Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
