St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center is an intentional Christian ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. Our mission is to offer guests a place for REST, RESTORATION, and RENEWAL and to provide a space to ENCOUNTER the Living Christ.

  • REST

    The culture we live in prioritizes productivity, busy-ness, and accomplishment. While these are not inherently bad, centering those values in our lives can crowd out the need we all have for deep rest. It is through rest that we remember who we truly are: beings lovingly created by God to live in right relationship with God, with one another, and with the land.

  • RESTORATION

    Rest should flow into restoration, which is the process of returning to some former condition. Restoration is about returning to our souls; returning to our bodies; and finding deep connections with God, nature, and one another.

  • RENEWAL

    RENEWAL

    Our hope is that all guests leave St. Christopher renewed and strengthened for their continuing work and ministry in the world. Whether you have come for Sabbath rest that fortifies you, or for a gathering of friends and family that energizes you, or a retreat that has inspired you, our prayer is that this renewed sense of God’s presence and action will stay with you as you re-enter your daily life.

  • ENCOUNTER

    We believe that St. Christopher is what the Celtic Christian tradition calls a “thin place” – that is, a place where the presence of God is easily sensed. We pray that all of our guests will encounter God’s presence and love in this special place, whether that is through nature, or worship, or fellowship, or prayer.

WHO IS WELCOME AT ST. CHRISTOPHER?

ALL are welcome at St. Christopher!

Since 1938, St. Christopher has been a beloved “thin place” where campers, students, guests, and staff have encountered the presence of God in creation. As an Episcopal institution, we believe that God loves us all, and so we strive to be a community where all are welcome. In alignment with these values, we are committed to inclusion of all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. We pray that St. Christopher will be a place where you will be seen and loved for who you are and how God made you.

Come,
you who have much faith
and you who would like to have more; you who have been here often
and you who have not been for a while
you who have tried to follow Jesus,
and you who have failed;
Come. It is Christ who invites us to meet him here.
