Assistant Director Environmental Education
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center is hiring an Assistant Director of Environmental Education. This is a middle-level management and teaching position that shares responsibility for the ACA accredited Barrier Island Environmental Education program to include assisting the Director in the hiring, training and management of a team of 14 Naturalists.
Applicants for this position should have an undergraduate degree focused on fields related to the environmental sciences, as well as prior experience as an environmental educator. He or she must be a mature Christian with gifts of wisdom and discernment, and the interests and abilities to teach and disciple others.
Physical fitness is a must in that many days can include walking or hiking 3 to 4 miles while talking, as well as lifting and hauling kayaks. In addition to the Barrier Island program, the Assistant Director is directly involved in coordinating the Barrier Island Local Outreach and Outdoor Encounters programs.

Barrier Island Naturalist
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center seeks conservative evangelical Christians who are naturalists to work with the Barrier Island Environmental Education Program each school year.
St. Christopher is run by the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina and is located 25 miles south of Charleston on Seabrook Island. The campus includes nearly one mile of beach, 100 acres of salt marsh, 200 acres of undisturbed maritime forest, two freshwater ponds, and a freshwater swamp.
The year will provide an opportunity to not only gain valuable environmental education experience but also learn how to be a minister through all walks of life.
Food Services Associate, Evening Team
In addition to cooking dinners for 30 to 300 people, this position includes the preparation of the dining rooms; washing dishes, pots, and pans; preparing beverages and salad bars; stocking shelves; and whatever else is needed to provide quality service to our guests. Applicant needs to have a strong back, healthy feet, and upper body strength. Equally important is a demonstrated heart for teamwork.
This is a full-time hourly position. Hours for this team are approximately noon to 8 p.m. five days per week, including weekends, for a total of 40 hours per week. Schedules are made about a week in advance and are based on the needs of our guests. We are open year round, seven days a week. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule. Paydays are every two weeks. Pay begins at $11 an hour.
Guest Services Associate
We need help in our Guest Services Department. We are looking for a high-energy individual to clean assembly spaces, lodge rooms and bathrooms, set up furniture for conferences, carry laundry bags; and do whatever else is needed to provide quality service. Applicant needs to be strong, in excellent physical condition, and care about cleanliness and presentation. Equally important is a demonstrated heart for teamwork, in particular with the rest of the Guest Services Department and the Facilities Department.
The position is hourly, full time (40 hours a week) or part time (28 hours a week). Typical full time includes 4 days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus 1 day a week (usually Friday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Days vary week to week and are based on guests’ needs. Scheduled work days include an average of 2 Sundays per month. Work schedules are made about two weeks in advance. We are open year-round, seven days a week. Paydays are every two weeks. Starting hourly rate is competitive, well above minimum wage, and may go higher if you are effective with your time.
