What it’s like to be on the Summer Camp Team…
How do I apply for Summer 2019?!?
***We are currently no longer accepting female Staff and Interns applications.***
We ARE still accepting female Counselor applicants and male applicants for all positions!
Staff members are college age students hired for the entire summer (May 20-August 10) to build with relationships with campers and facilitate camp programming. Staff members live in cabins for the majority of the summer and run all camp activities and some of the teaching programs. If you are ready to spend your summer wet, muddy, and messy all while serving others and praising the Lord, this is the place for you!
Counselors are high school students who volunteer for one or more weeks over the course of the summer. Counselors stay in the cabins with a group of campers and assist their “in cabin” staff member with daily responsibilities. Counselors play a key role in building relationships with campers and being a spiritual leader.
Internships are offered on a limited basis to those who will have graduated high school in or before the spring of 2019. Interns serve for half of the summer (June 6-July 6 or July 7-August 9). This position involves less hands-on ministry than a staff member, but more responsibility than a counselor. Interns are a vital part of our team. This position provides the ability to learn new skills and grow as a Christian leader, which will better prepare you to potentially join our Summer Staff team in the future. While there is no payment for this position, room & board, including all meals, is provided.
Age Requirements: Summer Camp staff members need to be at least 18 years old on or before June 1, 2019, and have graduated High School in 2018 or earlier. Counselors need to be at least 16 years old on or before June 1, 2019. Interns need to have graduated high school by the summer of 2019.
Training Requirements: Staff must to be able to report to staff training on Monday afternoon, May 20th, already having their Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications completed. Counselors need to be able to attend one of the required counselor overnight training sessions (March 29-30 or April 12-13, 2019). All counselors must attend one of these training sessions in order to be eligible to be a counselor this summer.
