What’s it like to work at Camp Saint Christopher?
STAFF, COUNSELOR, AND INTERN APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
Staff are college-age young adults hired to serve for the entire summer (May 16-August 6). Staff members live in cabins for the majority of the summer and facilitate all camp activities and some of the teaching programs. The role of a staff member is to build authentic relationships with campers by living as an example of Christ’s love for them and providing spiritual leadership to those in their cabin. If you are ready for an unforgettable summer spent serving, mentoring, and having fun with youth all while praising the Lord, this is the place for you!
Counselors are high school and college-age students who volunteer for one or more weeks over the course of the summer. Counselors stay in the cabins with a group of campers and assist their in-cabin staff member with daily responsibilities. Counselors play a key role in building relationships with campers and being a spiritual leader.
Internships are offered on a limited basis to those who will have graduated high school in or before the spring of 2022. Interns serve for half of the summer (June 2-July 2 or July 3-August 5). This position involves less hands-on ministry than a staff member, but more responsibility than a counselor. Interns are a vital part of our team. This position provides the ability to learn new skills and grow as a Christian leader, which will better prepare you to potentially join our Summer Staff team in the future. While there is no payment for this position, room & board, including all meals, is provided.
Age Requirements: Summer Camp staff members need to be at least 18 years old on or before June 1, 2022, and have graduated High School in 2021 or earlier. Counselors need to be at least 16 years old on or before June 1, 2022. Interns need to have graduated high school by the summer of 2022.
Training Requirements: Staff must to be able to report to staff training on Monday afternoon, May 16th, already having their Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications completed. Counselors need to be able to attend one of the REQUIRED overnight counselor training sessions (March 25-26 or April 22-23). All counselors must attend one of these training sessions in order to be eligible to be a counselor this summer. Interns must complete First Aid and CPR training by the time they report to serve at camp.
