The end of our Naturalists introductions…..

My name is Shannon Lusk and I grew up in a small town in the northwest corner of Connecticut. _Zn-FVDCl1Au2IqonAnwU7v5H5OXUBoVdI5mbHOguoJ7sQquHmMXoHLJJPOZ8VkM0DaxFya3ekQ-ROGsSUCIVraLTtNEJFGsk3JjsaxQ_gJS4q9PFVs0zt86pXVzlx3pqI came to South Carolina to study at the College of Charleston, earning my Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a minor in French and Francophone Studies. I love SCUBA diving, playing the flute, reading and snuggles with my dog. I am excited to get the chance to help instill a love of nature, especially a love of the oceans in students while working as a naturalist at Barrier Island. I was inspired to study marine biology by my teachers growing up, and I hope to do the same, showing students the importance of nature around us! A favorite quote of mine comes from Eleanor Rosevelt, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”

Hey my name is Meghan Leuschner.5NDcKfWCaFLf5MS1qhRCfJUtuY-XohxuGN5A2NfTnN-ckr3WPWYKBte5ZnBh8rKA2kFJqqpyYJ1zwxedYwOVrC0vlJLjNUo2ddojjHRIawki_Eq-4yk_vWzlUB79lfOWb I am from Holland, Michigan. I went to college at Calvin College where I got my degree in Elementary education with a math major focus. I am excited about working at Barrier Island because I get to teach kids outside!!! I love to do pretty much anything outside. I like kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, climbing, and snowboarding. A favorite quote of mine is, “ Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
